Slate slabs

Slate is a shallow metamorphic rock formed through slight metamorphism of sedimentary rocks that are clayey or sandy, or intermediate to acidic tuff and welded tuff. Slate has excellent natural layering, with uniform thickness for each layer, moderate hardness, and features such as anti-corrosion, acid/alkali resistance, high/low temperature resistance, compression/bending resistance, weathering resistance, sound insulation, and heat dissipation. With its elegant color, beautiful appearance, fine texture, and natural grain, slate has become known worldwide for its suitability in both busy urban buildings and rural farmhouses, both indoors and outdoors, and its adaptability to various environments.

The color of slate varies according to the impurities it contains, with slate containing iron typically being red or yellow, while carbonaceous slate is black or gray. Slate containing calcium will bubble when exposed to hydrochloric acid. Natural colors of slate can be found in light blue, light green, black, brown, tan, red, yellow, and light gray tones.
